about
viva la violette

Hi there! My name is Heather 'Violet' Jones, and I own and operate Viva la Violette. I started Viva la Violette in 2008, and have since expanded my business to offer unique graphic and web design services. I have previously designed for photographers, interior designers, event planners, news reporters, bloggers and other small business owners. I would define my style as feminine and chic with a touch of whimsy.
Since I was in my late teens, I knew that I wanted to be a web designer. When I started college there was not yet a curriculum available, so I started building websites in my spare time. I switched between Graphic Design, Interior Design, ISDS, back to Graphic Design, and eventually switched colleges. I graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Arts- Computer Animation, and I am continuing my education to keep up with the new web standards and responsive design techniques.
Before Viva la Violette was created, I worked as an artist at a casual video game company for three years. Although I sometimes miss having my hand in the art of video games, I am finally living my dream- and loving every minute of it! I have now been designing and creating websites for twelve years.
In my (very limited) spare time, I enjoy spending time with my best friend/hubby, Chris, and our son, Dax, playing video games, blogging, and curling up with my Nook. Some of my other favorites are: Alice in Wonderland, letterpress, glitter, water slides, iced coffee, chicken fried rice, and pasta.
so why the name Viva la Violette?
I've always had an over-the-top obsession with the color purple. When I started playing video games online, I always named my characters 'Violet'- and I guess it stuck. It originally became an online nickname for me, but I now have friends that only call me Violet. (P.S. Did I mention that I met my husband playing an online game? =)
When I started my business, I of course had to incorporate the name Violet somehow.
thank you ♥
Thanks so much for visiting my little corner of the web and reading about Viva la Violette.
Now, tell me a little about YOU!
